About Us

What is MOPS?

MOPS is a grassroots movement that believes moms are world influencers.

We also believe that incubating hearts and giving just-because-hugs can change the course of history. That’s why we connect moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying along side one another.

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and by preschoolers we mean kiddos from birth through kindergarten. We know it’s a little confusing so let’s just stick with “MOPS.”

We are moms, and we believe that better moms make a better world. (mops.org)

MOPS at First Free

We meet at First Evangelical Free Church in Lincoln, Nebraska which is located at 84th and Van Dorn Street.  We meet almost every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month from September through May.  Our MOPS morning begins at 9:00 a.m with childcare drop off and ends at11:15 a.m..  Children must be picked up by 11:30 a.m..  Our MOPS group typically has up to 80 moms registered.  Childcare is available until the spaces are filled.  We begin childcare at 6 months old (meaning if you have a newborn, the child stays with mom until he or she is old enough to go to childcare).  The children in the MOPPETS program play, have story, game, & craft times, they also have a snack.  More Info on our MOPPETS program

During our meetings you will be placed with a smaller group of about 8 to 10 moms, who you will sit with throughout the year.  These smaller groups also meet from time to time outside of MOPS.  We will also have a brunch, speaker on various topics, & a craft/creative activity.  Meet our First Free MOPS Leadership Team

We try to encourage you to be a great mom in the name of the Lord.
