We had another great MOPS meeting today. Thank you to our speaker, Barb Barber. Barb and her helpers, the homeschool room boys, shared the Christmas story with us using paper puppets. Christmas is not about presents, Santa, cookies, Frosty, or decorated trees. Christmas is about the birth of Christ, who was born to be the savior of the world. It is our privilege as moms to be able to teach our children what Christmas is really all about. Barb showed us how fun and easy it is to share the real Christmas story with our children. You can make paper puppets of all the “characters” in the nativity and then act out the Christmas story together. The homeschool boys put on a play for us using the nativity puppets they made. They read the Christmas story from the Bible (Luke 2:1-20 and Matthew 2:1-12) and used the puppets to act out the story as it was being read. I snuck backstage afterward and took a few pictures of their puppets to give you an idea of how you might decorate the templates that Barb provided for us to make your family’s own nativity puppets. I also scanned the templates and am making them available below. Feel free to print more if you have need or share the link with friends.
