Advent Conspiracy

Advent Conspiracy

The story of Christ’s birth is a story of promise, hope, and a revolutionary love.
So, what happened? What was once a time to celebrate the birth of a savior has somehow turned into a season of stress, traffic jams, and shopping lists.
And when it’s all over, many of us are left with presents to return, looming debt that will take months to pay off, and this empty feeling of missed purpose. Is this what we really want out of Christmas?
What if Christmas became a world-changing event again?
Welcome to Advent Conspiracy. (from

MOPS Ladies,

We wanted to let you know of an opportunity happening at First Evangelical Free Church for the next 4 weeks. In years past, First Evangelical Free Church has had a living city of Bethlehem connected with Christmas on 84th Street. This year, we are taking a different direction on preparing for Christmas – Advent Conspiracy.

Starting this Sunday, November 21st, Pastor Mark Brunott will be leading us through what it means to Worship Fully, Spend Less, Give More and Love All. Identical Services are at 9:00 am and 10:30 am. Children are welcome to come and visit Camp Kanisa (Swahili for church) during both hours; first hour programming is available from nursery through 5th grade, second hour of programming is available from nursery through 3rd grade.  We hope to see you on Sunday morning!

Also, there is a Special Thanksgiving-Week Service, called “Lift Your Praises” on Tuesday, November 23, 7 p.m.

First Free will be living out the [Worship Fully] value of Advent Conspiracy by coming together for an all-church Thanksgiving service in which we will thank, praise and celebrate Jesus with each breath. We will lift our praises in song, testimony, prayer and Communion. Please plan to join us, November 23, in the Worship Center. There will be no childcare available.
